OHIO ATHLETIC ADMINISTRATORS ACHIEVE NATIONAL CERTIFICATION STATUS

Congratulations to Mark Rose, Clay HS Athletic Administrator, for achieving his Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) credentials from the National Inserscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA).  He has been the athletic administrator at Clay for the past twelve years. During this time he has received various awards from the local association (SEOIAAA)--including the Citation Award (2010-11), Sportsmanship & Integrity Award (2011-12), and Meritorious Award (2012-13)--as well as the OIAAA Athletic Administrator of the Year Award (2009-10) and induction in the OIAAA Hall of Fame in 2015.  He also serves as the president of the SEOIAAA, a position he has been elected to by his peers since 2009.

Thirty-one (31) Ohio athletic administrators have received national certification from the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) within the past 10 months.  The recipients of these certifications received either their Registered Athletic Administrators (RAA) certificate, Certified Athletic Administrator (CAA) certificate or the Certified Master Athletic Administrator (CMAA) certificate by completing nationally accredited courses for athletic administrators and passing a national sanctioned exam (for the CAA) and completing a nationally approved project (for the CMAA) related to their professional work as an interscholastic athletic administrator.

Jon Payne, CMAA, athletic administrator at Reading High School and the Ohio Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (OIAAA) Certification Chair, stated, “The individuals who have completed these professional designations represent some of the best and brightest in our profession.  Their dedication to the education-based athletic environment helps their respective schools, student-athletes, coaches and community achieve the mission of our school-based sports programs.”

With these most recent recognitions, this brings the total number of Ohio athletic administrators having received their CMAA to 21 and CAA to 207.
