Congrats to the Clay Junior High School softball team. The Panthers finished the season with an 19-2 record and finished second in the Southern Ohio Softball League. The team is coached by Gene Collins.
Ava McCleese will travel to participate in a People to People Leadership Summit.
Josh Bailey, a senior at Clay High School, recently received his Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
The annual CF walk at Clay will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015, starting at 12:45. A CF car show will be held in the parking lot that evening.
To participate in the walk during the day, students MUST donate $10 or purchase a CF t-shirt ($16). CF t-shirts (ORDER FORMS) are on sale through Mrs. Tipton until April 24. Money is due at the time of the order. Order forms are also available from Mrs. Tipton or the front office.

Clay Local School District Receives Auditor of State Award
"A recent financial audit of the Clay Local School District by the Auditor of State's office has returned a clean audit report. The Clay Local School District's excellent record keeping has earned it the Auditor of State Award."
Congratulations, Ava McCleese! Ava, a sophomore, is the first student at Clay High School to ever be accepted to participate in the Appalachian Regional Commission/Oak Ridge National Laboratory (2015) Summer High School Math/Science Institute. The institute will be conducted from July 11-24, 2015.

Lexie Gilliland signed a letter of intent to play basketball at KCU.
On Wednesday, March 25, 2015, Lexie Gilliland, a Clay senior, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Coach Ron Arnett and the Kentucky Christian Univeristy Knights (Grayson, KY). KCU athletic programs play in the NCCAA (National Collegiate Christian Athletic Association) Division II & NAIA. Lexie is the daughter of Craig and Melanie Gilliland of Rosemount.
The Clay Local School District will hold a parent informational meeting concerning open enrollment for the 2015-2016 school year on Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
Any person interested in learning more regarding open enrollment in the Clay Local School District may come to the Clay Local School District library on March 24, 2015, at 6:00PM to obtain necessary forms as well as information from the district.
Applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis at the conclusion of the meeting and again beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2015, in the district office. Anyone having questions should call Superintendent Anthony Mantell at 740-354-6645.
For those attending the meeting, please park in the lot adjacent to Clay High Street and enter the main entrance (through the metal doors under the blue overhang) on the north side of the building. Once you enter the building, turn right and walk straight down the hall to the library. You will enter the library through the double, wooden doors.
The Marshall University Chamber Choir visited Clay High School on Thursday, March 12, 2015.
The group performed selections from a wide range of composers and languages. The composers included Mozart and Brahms and the languages included English to Latin to German. Even musical rendentions of Walt Witman's poetry and a jazz saxophone solo was perfomanced.
The visit was arranged by Clay's music teacher, Mr. Wiget. The Choir performed at All Saints' Church on Thursday evening as well.

Members of the Clay Student Council attended the Ohio Student Council Day on Tuesday, March 3, 2015.
The Ohio Student Council Day is sponsored annually by Nationwide Insurance.
Members of the Clay Student Council along with their chaperones were able to attend a NHL Columbus Blue Jackets' game at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. As well as attending the game, the members were able to participate in several other "fun" activities. Mrs. Cayton is the Clay Student Council adviser.
