Information from the Ohio Department of Education regarding Covid-19

It is important that we are informed and alert, and that we act based on facts as our community and its health care professionals tackle this disease. Our most important priority is the health and safety of our students, staff, and our community.

There are several standard precautions we have been asked to detail to our community to assist in preventing the spread of the disease.  The following standard precautions are things that each of us can do:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.

Our public health officials are here to help. The Ohio Department of Health has opened a call center to answer questions regarding coronavirus and update you about the risk in Ohio. Licensed nurses and infectious disease experts are available to answer your questions 7 days a week from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm and can be reached at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634).

Thank you for staying informed,

Todd Warnock
Superintendent, Clay Local Schools
