RICHARD HAROLD "SID" LEIVE

RUBYVILLE. Richard Harold "Sid" Leive, 85, of Rubyville, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at his residence.

Born December 8, 1930 in South Webster, a son of the late Harold E. and Minnie Louise (Potts) Leive, he was a retired math and science teacher for Clay Local Schools. Following his retirement he substituted and finished his teaching career with a total of 51 years of service. He was also an Air Force Veteran during the Korean Conflict.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Conkel) Leive on March 29, 2016.

He is survived by two sons, Terry (Nancy) Conkel of Wheelersburg, Richard (Angie) Leive of Dayton; a daughter, Lisa (Neil) Rhodes of Chillicothe; two grandchildren, Morgan (Devin) Frost and Brady Rhodes.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Pastor Rob McKinney officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday. Online condolences may be sent to www.edafh.com.

Open House will be held on Monday, August 22, from 6:00-7:30PM.
*Third grade meeting at 5:30pm in Elem. Computer Lab.

New student registration will be held on Thursday, August 11, from 9:00AM-3:00PM

What does it mean to be Clay Panthers?

“What does it mean to be Clay Panthers?” 

This question was presented to students in the Clay Local School District before the break.  Each grade was given one of the letters from “Clay Panthers” and asked to select a word that answered the question.  We are proud to present what our students have developed along with the grade level that provided the excellent word.

Each week, all of our students will focus on the weekly word and try to fulfill “What it means to be Clay Panthers.”

Open Enrollment Meeting 2016

The Clay Local School District has scheduled an Open Enrollment Meeting for the 2016-17 school year for Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at 6:00 PM.  See the attached information.

In memory...

The Clay community mourns the loss of Elizabeth (Blevins) Swayne, a 1990 graduate of Clay High School. Our hearts go out to the Swayne and Blevins families and to all those who knew and loved Liz.

The Clay Schools Legacy Fund will create a scholarship fund in memory of Elizabeth.

Donations to the fund can be made on the Scioto Foundation website -www.sciotofoundation.org. Donate online under the Quick Links menu on the bottom left of the home page. Once there, select UCAN (Clay Schools Legacy Scholarship Fund) then type Elizabeth (Blevins) Swayne in the memo line and complete the form.

Checks can also be made out to the Clay Alumni Association and mailed to Charles Leonard in memory of Elizabeth (Blevins) Swayne. Mr. Leonard's address is 6978 Pearce Lane, Canal Winchester, OH 43110.
