Clay National Honor Society Induction 2012-2013

Clay Inducts New National Honor Society Members

 

 

Clay Junior-Senior High School held its National Honor Society Induction on Thursday, January 10, 2013, in the high school cafetorium.  Six new students were inducted into Clay’s National Honor Society. 

 

The new members include Jacob Crosier, son of Travis and Angie Lewis of Rubyville and James and Ginger Crosier; Jessica Moore, daughter of Brian and Kitty Moore of Rosemount; Katie Redding, daughter of John and Jane Redding of Rosemount; Michael Schmidt, son of  Daniel and Sharon Schmidt of Rosemount; Mark Shaffer, son of Bill and Beth Shaffer of Rosemount; and Emily Widdowson, daughter of Eric and Amy Widdowson of Rosemount.

 

The current NHS members included Alison Castle, Aleah Clark, Jocee Hughes, Mariah Tackett, and Breelyn Wells.

 

The speaker for the afternoon’s ceremony was Miss Hayley Castle, a 2006 NHS inductee and a 2007 graduate of Clay High School.  Hayley is a 2009 and 2012 graduate of Shawnee State University and a registered nurse with SOMC.  She is the daughter of Kevin and Lori Castle of Rosemount. 

Members of the chapter are selected based on the criteria of character, leadership, scholarship, and service; and members must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be considered.  Members are involved in many activities and service projects throughout the year.  The advisor for the Clay National Honor Society is Mrs. Janet Deal.  The Clay National Honor Society Chapter is sponsored by the New Boston Kiwanis.
