CMS & CES Spelling Bees 2015-16
Congrats to Emily Clausing for qualifying for the Regional Spelling Bee! The Clay Middle School Spelling Bee was held Thursday, January 7, 2016, in the Clay HS/MS Library, and the Clay Elementary School Spelling Bee was held on Friday, January 15, 2016.
Christmas Gifts Sent to Haiti Orphanage
During the months of November and December, Clay HS students brought in over 500 items to donate to an orphanage in Jeremie, Haiti. These items included clothing, shoes, nail polish, towels, school supplies, Matchbox cars, soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other small toys. Clay Junior-Senior High School held its National Honor Society Induction on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, in the high school cafetorium. Four new students were inducted into Clay’s National Honor Society.
The new members inducted were Cole Gilliland, son of Craig and Melanie Gilliland of Rosemount; James Arthur Madden, son of Danny and Lisa Madden of Portsmouth; Ava L. McCleese, daughter of Chris and April McCleese of Lucasville; and Alaina Stowers, daughter of Susan Runyon and Ryan Stowers of Rosemount.
