Thoroughman Signs with the Mountaineers

Panther Will Become a Mountaineer

On Wednesday, November 9, 2005, Clay High School senior Cam Thoroughman signed his national letter of intent to continue his education and play basketball for the Mountaineers of West Virginia University.  Cam, a 6'7 guard, has helped pace the Clay Panthers to a Southern Ohio Conference (Div. I) Championship last year while averaging 23 points and 13 rebounds a game.  John Beilein, West Virginia's head coach, said, "Cam is a versatile guy who really doesn't have a position.  He can play four different positions.  He's a tough kid who has a great nose for the ball.  He shoots, scores, and rebounds extremely well."  Cam is the son of Mike and Marla Thoroughman of Friendship, Ohio.
