Clay NHS Inducts New Members, 2021

 

Clay High School held its National Honor Society Induction on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in the high school cafetorium.  Nine new members were inducted into Clay’s National Honor Society.

The new members inducted were Gavin Cayton, son of Scott and Gretchen Cayton of McDermott; Jaden Jessee, son of Jimmy and Kandis Rayburn of Lucasville and Jack Clay of Minford; Mitchell King, son of Brian and Kristin Anderson of Rosemount; Mekenzie Loper, daughter of Tim and Candy Loper of Portsmouth; Preslee Lutz, daughter of Lisa and Terry Lutz of Minford; Shaley Munion, daughter of Troy Munion and Kelly Tackett of Portsmouth; Kyleigh Oliver, daughter of Eric and Debbie Oliver of Rosemount; Ian Skeenes, son of Sarah Beth Johnson of Rosemount and Justin and Brooke Skeenes of Wheelersburg; and Kailey Ware, daughter of Matt and Tracie Lewis of Rosemount. These nine new members joined Andrew Brown, Emily Clausing, Clay Cottle, Chasten Davis, and Jaymes Ethan Jones as current Clay NHS members.

Members of the chapter are selected based on the criteria of character, leadership, scholarship, and service; and members must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher to be considered.  Members are involved in many activities and service projects throughout the year.  The adviser for the Clay National Honor Society is Mr. Mark Rose.

Clay Junior-Senior High School held its National Honor Society Induction on Thursday, January 10, 2019, in the high school cafetorium.  Three new students were inducted into Clay’s National Honor Society.

The new members inducted were Ryanna Bobst, daughter of Tessa Bobst; Cameron DeLotell, daughter of Chris and Tabbi DeLotell; and Jaelyn Warnock, daughter of Todd and Julie Warnock.

The current NHS members included Skylar Artis, Sophia Balestra, Sydney Barney, Ashtyn Brown, Lila Brown, Elisa Collins, Darby Garrett, Calvin Gerard, Delanie Gilliland, Alexandrya Musser, Madison Nigh, Tyler Phillips, Shaelyn Vassar, Jensen Warnock, Cassidy Wells, and Sarah Widdowson.

The speakers for the afternoon’s ceremony were Mrs. Courtney (Wilson) Mays, CHS National Honor Society member (2009), and Mrs. Megan (Burchett) Oliver, CHS National Honor Society member (2008).

Clay High School held its National Honor Society Induction on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, in the high school cafetorium.  Five new students were inducted into Clay’s National Honor Society.

The new members inducted were Andrew Brown, son of Erica and Jason Willis or Rosemount and Eric Brown of Hawaii; Emily Clausing, daughter of April and Ryan Clausing of Portsmouth; Clay Cottle, son of Marc and Jennifer Cottle of Portsmouth; Chasten Lesan Davis, daughter of Shane and Lesan Davis of Portsmouth; and Jaymes Ethan Jones, son of Jay and Linda Jones of Portsmouth. Jaelyn Warnock is the current NHS member. She is the daughter of Todd and Julie Warnock of Rosemount.

The new members inducted were Skylar Artis, daughter of Scott and Missy Artis; Sophia Balestra, daughter of Brenden and Rachel Balestra; Sydney Barney, daughter of Jody and Matt Barney of Rosemount; Ashtyn Brown, daughter of Sarah and Gabe Brown; Lila Brown, daughter of Erica and Jason Willis of Rosemount and Eric Brown of Hawaii; Elisa Collins, Gene and Marie Collins of Portsmouth; Darby Garrett, daughter of Ted and Lisa Garrett of Rosemount; Calvin Gerard, son of Chris and Amy Gerard of Rosemount and Bill and Angela Ridenour of Lucasville; Delanie Gilliland, daughter of Craig and Melanie Gilliland of Rosemount; Alexandrya Musser, daughter of Eric Musser and Anna Green of Portsmouth; Madison Nigh, daughter of Andrea Nigh and David McCroskey of Rosemount; Tyler Phillips, son of Mike and Lisa Phillips of Rosemount; Shaelyn Vassar, daughter of Scott and Teresa Vassar of Rosemount; Jensen Warnock, daughter of Todd and Julie Warnock of Rosemount; Cassidy Wells, daughter of Susan Runyon of Portsmouth; and Sarah Widdowson, daughter of Eric and Amy Widdowson of Rosemount.

The current NHS members included Hunnter Adams, Hunter Armstrong, Alicia Bobst, Grant Cayton, Keith Cottle, Bethany Flannery, Savannah Moore, Abigail Osborn, Regan Nicole Osborn, Sydney Osborn, Jacob Wellman, Samantha Willis.

The speaker for the afternoon’s ceremony was Mrs. Amana Spriggs-Rhea.  She was inducted into the CHS National Honor Society in 1999 and was the co-valedictorian of her 2000 Clay HS graduating class.  She graduated in 2004 from Miami University (Business) and 2009 from Central Michigan University (Business Administration). She works for Wastren Advantage Incorporated in Piketon.
